Goosifer finally folded her wings.
Izzy Bear finally found her den.
The dogs are dreaming.
The house has stopped creaking.
Even the clock seems to tick a little softer.
There are no giggles.
No tiny footsteps.
No sleepy protests that bedtime is somehow unfair.
Just two little girls,
breathing in rhythm,
completely unaware
that they are the reason
this house feels like home.
Tomorrow,
the Goose will raise chaos again.
The Bear will ask for cuddles.
And I’ll probably need another coffee.
But tonight…
the forest is quiet.
And for just a little while,
so is my heart.
