Onyx Storm
-
Xaden gives Violet forever and then disappears, leaving her with a husband, a ghost, and a ring that still says forever.
-
Tairn and Sgaeyl are not merely bonded; her absence would feel like a second heartbeat being torn from the body.
-
Andarna comes home to the family she chose and finds Sgaeyl missing from the sky—a goodbye she never agreed to.
-
Xaden leaves Violet a marriage, a house, Tyrrendor, and an inheritance when the only thing she would have chosen was him.
-
Mira does not have to die to make the grief arrive; sometimes the possibility of losing her is enough.
-
Some names are built to be spoken together; Sgaeyl’s absence leaves even Tairn sounding unfinished.
-
Some sacrifices look like death, some like disappearance, and some like becoming the very darkness you hoped would save the people you love.
